My Review
Personally, I think I deserve an A on my blogs. I am currently up to date, and my spelling and grammar is good. Sadly, however, Mr. Dunn decides what grade I get, and not me. :(

Favorite Earth Science Topics
Geology: My favorite geology topic was the Mesozoic Era. This is because that was when the dinosaurs were around and I am fascinated by dinosaurs.
Oceanography: My favorite oceanography topic was the submersibles because they allow us to see and view ocean animals.

Meteorology: My favorite meteorology topic was the air masses. This is because I learned to read the weatherman's map for the first time.
Astrology: My favorite astrology topic was the String Theory. This is because it is very intersting to me and it's something I've never heard of before.

H-R Diagram
1. The main sequence is a group of stars that run from the upper left corner to the lower right corner and are where most stars are located.
2. 90% of all stars are main sequence stars.
3. The Sun is a main sequence star.
4. Next, the Sun will use hydrogen in the layers sorrounding the core and become a red giant. This will happen in 5 billion years.
5. On the picture above, the x-axis is surface temperature and the y-axis is absolute magnitude. The diagonal line in the middle are the main-sequence stars.

Star Search
1. 10 stars are: Sun, Polaris, Vega, Sirius, Alpha Centauri, Mira, Algol, Castor, Regulus, Procyon.
2. Vega
3. class A white main sequence dwarf star
4. Yes, there's one planet 12 times larger than Jupiter, one the size of Neptune, and possibly some terrestrial type planets.
5. Vega is in the Milky Way, in the Lyra constellation.
6. Vega is 25.3 light years away from Earth.

Astronomy Topics
Titan: Titan is the largest of Saturn's moons and is the second largest moon in the Milky Way. It is even larger than Merury. It and Triton are the only moons to have substantial atmospheres. It's air pressure is 1.5 times greater than that of Earth in the atmosphere.
Big Bang Theory: The Big Bang Theory states that at first, the universe was a small, ompact, and dense ball. Then, the ball exploded 13.7 billion years ago. All the matter it contained scattered out. This matter eventually cooled and became galaxies. The matter is continuing to expand at a ever faster speed.
SETI: The Search for Extraterristerial Intelligence (SETI) is very interesting to some people. Their goal is to find life on other planets. This life is commonly called aliens. Many people have also claimed to see aliens, and some think the government is trying to hide aliens.
String Theory: The String Theory states that all matter, even light, is made up of tiny strings. These strings are the smallest particles ever. A string can do something called oscillate, which is when it changes the way it looks. If it oscillates one way, we see a electron. If it oscillates another way, we see a photon.
Black Holes: Black holes form when a star ten times larger than Earth collapses. A black hole has so much gravity that not even light can escape it. We can not see a black hole. We can, however, find a black hole if we see a type of radiation coming from an unknown source.

3 wind factors
1. The 3 factors affecting wind are pressure differences, the Coriolis effect, and friction.
2. The biggest factor affecting wind is the Coriolis effect.
3. If the Earth didn't rotate, two large thermally produced cells would form, with cold air going to the equator, warming, then rsing and going back to the poles. This would make weather predictable, thus making the weatherman's job much easier.

Cloud Types
1. Three low clouds are stratus, stratocumulus, and cumulus. Three middle clouds are altocumulus, altostratus, and nimbostratus. Three high clouds are cirrocumulus, cirrostratus, and cirrus. A vertical moving cloud is cumulonimbus.
2. My favorite cloud type is cumulonimbus.
3. This cloud brings many thunderstorms.
Air Mass
1. The four most common air masses are cT, mT, mP, and cP.
2. mP air masses bring my favorite weahter, which is snow.
3. In the snow, I like to have snow ball fights, make snow angels, taste the falling snow, play with my dog, and make snow cream.

Green House Effect
1. The greenhouse effect is when many pollutants get stuck in the Earth's atmosphere, thus trapping UV rays and stopping them from reflecting back to space, thus making Earth hotter.
2. The three most common greenhouse gases are flourocarbons, carbon dioxide, and methane.
3. Greenhouse gases are produced when animals exhale and when humans burn coal/oil and when we deforest the earth.
4. Greenhouse gases affect us because they affect our climate.
5. The Greenhouse effect is good when left alone, for if they didn't exist, an ice age might occur. When humans interfer, however, the climate is messed up and that is bad.

Offshoe Oil Drilling
1. Offshore oil drilling is the act of drilling for natural resources, usually oil, off the coast and in the water.
2. Offshore drilling is good because it allows us to get more oil.
3. Offshore drilling is bad because it polutes the surrounding water.
4. Personally, I feel that offshore drilling is bad because it damages the surrounding ecosystem, which is extremely hard to fix.

Recycling
1. We should recycle paper because it saves trees and energy. We should recycle glass, plastic, and metal because it saves energy and minerals.
2. It is better to reuse something than to recycle it because reusing it doesn't use any energy.
3. Fayetteville residents can recycle by putting recyclables in their blue recycle bin, then put it near the road.
4. The closest place the school can recycle at is right here, all we have to do is put recyclables out near the road on recycle pick-up day.
5. I can promote recycling by actually recycling and urging my family to do the same.

My Own Review
Personally, I think I deserve an A on my blog. I am up to date and have all my information. My spelling and grammar are also correct. Because of this, I think I deserve an A for my blog. Sadly, however, Mr. Dunn determines the grades and not me, so I don't know what I will get.

Recent Earthquakes.
1. Most earthquakes occur on the edge of the Pacific Ocean.
2. The reason most earthquakes occur there is because most faults are there.
3. This area is called the Circum-Pacific Belt, which better known as the "Ring of Fire".
4. The earthquake closest to North Carolina occured in southeast Missouri.
5. An earthquake occured on September 3 at 1:28:59 UTC in southeast Missouri. UTC is the international time zone. The magnitude was 2.7. The depth was 5.8 miles. It occured on the New Madrid Fault.

Real life example of mass movement!
This is a picture from Chiapas, Mexico. Someone inside a helicopter has taken this picture after a mudslide. The mudslide has left 16 people missing, feared dead. International aid is being sent to help this village and the other villages affected by the heavy rains. Even the capital is struggling from the rains.

What is the best renewable resource?
Personally, i think there is no one best renewable resource. Each resource has it's own advantages and disadvantages. Whatever resource is best depends on where your using it. For example, if it's very windy at a certain place, wind power is the best resource. If it's always sunny, like in California, solar power is a much beter chose. The best resource depends on the location.

Which is your fav. map projection?
Personally, the Gnomic map projection is my favorite. It's usually hard to acurrately see the two poles on a map, but the Gnomic makes this simple. Thus, this map can show stuff the other map projections can't acurrately show. Plus, it shows other areas good too. This makes the Gnomic map projection the best map possible.
